A cache description can be as verbose or as sparse as you desire.

Please bear in mind that the better your cache description the more chance you have of people taking the time to seek your cache.

You have taken an amount of your time to create a cache container, fill it with swaps, print a stash note and include a pen all inside a waterproof container. You have then found the time to find a location and get good co-ordinates. Don't let your cache description let your cache down.

Formatting is achieved using HTML markup.

Try to use proper punctuation, capitalisation and spelling. People will judge your cache and its worthiness to find initially based on your description.

por speling ,puncshuation. and leet speak makez u look like a f00l and they will quezzzzzzzzstion whether ur cache is worth finding.

Example 1:

A micro hidden in a log.

This is not likely to get many people's hunting vibes going. Well, unless they are a complete numbers whore (and yes there are some of us out there). It's boring, it's mundane and probably (but not always) reflects the quality of the cache container and the hide.

Example 2:

A micro cache hidden in a log beside the highway. You probably won't need to get out of the car to find this one. Watch out for the brambles and the thorny bushes.

This is not likely to get many people's hunting vibes going either. It's descriptive enough, but doesn't give you an inclination to actually get out there to find it.

Example 3:

A micro cache hidden in a log beside the highway. You probably won't need to get out of the car to find this one. Watch out for the brambles and the thorny bushes. If you do get out of the car, the view will be very much worth the reward with magnificent vistas over the surrounding hills in both summer and winter. I remember coming here as a youngster with the family and watching the birds soar over the valley. I hope you enjoy this cache for the right reasons.

This is more likely to get many people's hunting vibes going. It tells the story of what to expect when you get there. It also provides an incentive to find this cache as you may be interested in looking at the views as well as logging a cache.
