What are they

Caches Along A Route is an additional feature provided by GC.com which enables an advanced Pocket Query 'visit Pocket queries' to be generated which will contain all your cache search types within your specified distance of the Route, Maximum Distance 15Km

Setting up a route

At this stage there is no quick method for creating a Route for Australia due to Google Earth not currently having road directions for Australia at this time. Which means a little simple manipulation is required to create your own Aussie Route. One method is to Download a GPX file of an existing listed Route, open the GPX file using notepad and modifying the entered Waypoint Coordinates with those of your own desired Route. then save the modified file and upload to GC.com

A handy tip also is to provide at least the country or state in the Routes Keyword search field in order to make it easier for fellow cachers to find your created Route whilst also adding them to this Wiki directory.

Caches Along A Route

You need to be a Geocaching.com Premium Member to access the Caches Along A Route feature. The idea is to place a route in each state with a link back to GC.com using a capitol or major regional center as a starting point to aid in finding the route. It may also be worthwhile to use a Route even if you are only going a short distance along it And please sign you work and put in some details to let people know which way it goes.
