Ground zero (GZ for short) is the colloquial term coined by Geocachers for the location that they arrive at when the GPS display shows 0.00m distance to the cache. However, due to factors such as terrain, vegetation, satellite coverage, age of GPS receiver, freshness of batteries etc., GZ can and most likely will extend to a radius of up to 5m from where the cache is actually hidden.

This term may be used in conjuntion with the phenomenon of crop circles that mysteriously appears at GZ.
