CBD Area

There is a high density of caches in the Sydney CBD area with the normal distribution of fabulously located caches and bad-reception difficult caches. Lack of parking and traffic congestion often make it best to get around on foot.

Interstate and overseas visitors will find a numbver of geocachers within reasonable walking distance of the The Rocks, Hyde Park and Darling Harbour. There is an extremely popular - and secure - Travel Bug hotel (Safe City - Bug and Coin: GC28ZJ0) located close to Darling Harbour.

Around the harbour

Sydney Harbour is probably the most famous attraction of this city so it makes sense to focus your travels on some of the fabulous caches that have been placed around the water.

Cache runs

Because the city is located on a harbour with lots of meandering roads, it is difficult to for visitors (or locals) to do a big cache run. The outer north western suburbs, stretching from Parramatta in the east to Penrith in the west and Windsor in the northwest, offer the best concentrations of geocaches with relatively flat terrain and easy to navigate streets.
